Pommels are a passive weapon modifier in Sands of Aura. Learned through Master Casts that are found all across Talamhel, they are unique passive or active effects that strengthen your weapons. Pommels signify one of three modifiers that are dynamically applicable and changeable besides Codices and Weapon Heads. Once a weapon has been augmented, Pommels can be swapped at will for Glint, based on the rank of the weapon, through reforging. Applying a Pommel to a newly crafted weapon does not carry any additional costs. A Pommel is considered an optional weapon modifier and strictly speaking not necessary for the creation of a new weapon.

Pommels are the only weapon modifier to not change a weapon's visual appearance. While they do not affect the underlying fighting style, Pommels can apply positive status effects to the player character or negative effects upon enemies like bleeding or poison.
