The Cinderhold

A fortress-like complex built across a lake of lava, the Cinderhold was once worked only by the criminals of Emberensis. Yet after relations between the Ferrum and humanity crumbled and catapulted Talamhel again into war, the Cinderhold was reinvented as a construct of vengeance - its cages welcoming more than just Ferrum.

A smoldering stronghold of the southern Ferrum kingdom of Emberensis, following the Night Plague it was repurposed into a prison complex for both Man and Ferrum, now maintained by Greckko, its sole Cinderwarden. Bereft of much of his integrity, he now seems as cruel and responsible as the subjects he was tasked to watch over. The Ferrum's history of bloody conflicts and wars with the human kingdoms of Talamhel reflect strongly upon the Cinderhold in regards to its human inmates, having been enslaved to work among the lava-ridden quarries in blazing heat, paralyzing both body and mind. Although showing considerable resistance against the Night Plague, the absence of its corruptive influence remains a weak consolation for any and all occupants within the Hold.

Journeying to the Cinderhold requires access to the Grainwake.
