The Weight of Relief

Quest Overview

The Weight of Relief is a main quest in Sands of Aura. It introduces the player to Aura, The Spirit Between and to a new recurrent location in the Dunes of Creation.

“After waking in a mysterious realm called the Dunes of Creation, you are greeted by the very spirit Tupi sent you to destroy. After revealing herself as Aura, The Spirit Between, she insisted you seek the summit before the link to your realm is forever severed.”

“After reuniting with Aura and struggling toward the summit of the Dunes, you’ve arrived at a great temple. The only apparent exit is through this mysterious figurehead, Mentes. As you approach, you remember the promise made to Aura.”

"After waking in Starspire, Galina informs you of Lawrence’s declining health and of his wish to speak with you."

"Lawrence, after making you a fully-fledged member of the Remnant Order, has tasked you with protecting Starspire at all costs."

Part One Upon interacting with Seldom and activating Melgom’s Sigil, you can then follow Tupi’s instructions and proceed into the Nexus which sits beneath the Church of Leisis in Starspire. To get there, enter the Church of Leisis and progress naturally until you come to a chamber with many coffins. Along the leftmost side, when the room opens up to a circular chamber, you’ll find a ladder that leads up to an upper terrace. Progress along this terrace until you find a lever, pulling this lever will trigger an elevator to rise. Taking it will bring you down to the Nexus. Once in the Nexus you’ll descend a large staircase and as you progress the spirit you encountered beneath Tupi’s Grotto will emerge again. She speaks to you in an unknown language and once you activate the portal, she’ll attempt to inhabit you in the same way she inhabited Ubanni. After progressing through the portal, you wake in a location unlike anything known in Talamhel and at your side is the spirit from before. She introduces herself as Aura and tells you you’re in the Dunes of Creation. She warns that if you remain too long you’ll be separated from your body forever. She tells you to follow the pylons and progress to the peak of the realm. Part Two Progressing through the Dunes of Creation, you’ll become slowed but the various pylons are scattered throughout which will cleanse you and protect you from the wandering spirits. While moving from pylon to pylon, you’ll notice small chains and various crystals directing you along the path. Following these you will eventually come to a pylon where Aura will emerge and speaking to her reveals she’s afraid to progress forward. She tells you that this domain belongs to Mentes. You make a deal not to reveal her presence in exchange for information. Upon reaching the summit of the Dunes of Creations, you’ll find Mentes, The Vestige, who seems enraged by Aura presence. He warns you that her hymn is misplaced and that Maveth's seal is breaking. Growing annoyed at your willfulness, Mentes dismisses you from his realm and you wake to find yourself in your bed with Galina waiting beside you. Joyous to see you awake, she informs you about Lawrence's declining health and asks you to speak with him. With much effort, Lawrence officially appoints you as Knight of the Remnant Order before falling back into his corrupted state of slumber.
