Part One

After being knighted by a severely weakened Lawrence, Galina will inform you that your first task should be healing your mentor of his corruption. To do this she recommends you seek out Tannen either in Starspire or at Paragon’s Rest depending on if you’ve completed the Emerald Flame Ember Hearts quest. Galina says Tannen knows about a mysterious elixir said to heal even corruption. Once Tannen is in Starspire, he can be found sitting near the stairs that lead down to the docks. Speaking with him will bolster the rumors of the elixir in Radix Stronghold and he will give you the Firebombs item which can be used to burn away the blackthorn blocking entry to Radix Stronghold.

After doing so and docking at Radix Stronghold, you will be met by Moro, The Pilgrim Verdant. Speaking with him reveals he has come to the island following the instruction of a mysterious voice and that he seeks a mysterious fountain of healing. Progressing into the interior of Radix Stronghold, you’ll find an area with the large pool of water which will allow for an optional scene with Aura. At the base of the pool, you’ll find a placard which indicates the space for two keys. The quickest means of finding the first key is to progress to the back left corner of the room and ascend the staircase watching out for the rolling boulders before you come to a split path. Follow stairs that descend down beside the large thorn patch and proceed along the battlement until you notice a ladder which ascends a tower. On a nearby platform situated just beyond the supply chest for the Radix Reliquary quest is the first key: the Buel’Sarian Bindrune.

To collect the next, you can continue along the battlement path until coming to platform which contains a shortcut to the dock. A set of stairs will lead up to the upper platforms of Radix Stronghold, following them and then passing through the room on the right with the large circular pit, will bring you to a bridge which runs over the island’s entrance. Follow the natural path as it wraps around into a staircase and continue until you come to the two statues before a bridge. Follow as it wraps around and leads to the sewer section of Radix Stronghold where at the end, you’ll find a ladder which descends into a partially flooded chamber lined with statues. On a pedestal in the back of the room you find the second key: the Worn Cutlass Dagger.

Step By Step

  1. Talk to Tannen
  2. Journey to Radix Stronghold
  3. Use Firebombs to burn the brambles blocking the entrance and enter the stronghold
  4. Locate the Buel'Sarian Bindrune and Worn Cutlass Dagger

Part Two

After obtaining the Worn Cutlass Dagger, you can turn and head the opposite direction using the lever to progress down a set of stairs. Doing so will bring you back to the split path from earlier. Proceed to the left and follow the stairs that lead into the main chamber where you can again interact with the placard indicating the two keys. Doing so causes a bridge to emerge from the pool of water opening the way to the boss chamber of Radix Stronghold.

After defeating the Wilgram Twins, a gate will open within the main chamber and progressing through will cause Aura to emerge and warn you of Maveth’s presence. Continuing you’ll find the secret laboratory mentioned by Tannen and a pool of a mysterious liquid in its center. Before you are able to act, Moro, The Pilgrim Verdant, appears and dunks his hands into the laboratory's well, drinking deep of its contents. This action transforms him into a lifeless slave to Maveth's will, causing him to stumble toward you, damaging you with his corrupted presence. Bound to your duty, you have no choice but to slay him.

While Naurrin's Elixir seems completely tainted by Maveth's Night Plague, Aura offers a glimmer of hope as she reveals the elixir may yet be saved by means of purification through the Azure Flare. Collecting a sample of the tainted elixir, you can proceed to the back of the room to also collect the broken Sigil of the Forsaken God Embarsarian, advancing the Sigils of the Forsaken Gods questline.

Step By Step

  1. Unlock the bridge mechanism and enter the Stronghold's Heart, defeat Wilgram Twins
  2. Enter the laboratory and kill Moro
  3. Retrieve a sample of Naurrin's Tainted Elixir

Optional Content

Note: This must be done before defeating the Wilgram Twins as defeating them will cause the Flowering Vasculature item to wither and disappear. During your exploration of Radix Stronghold, you may come across an item known as the Flowering Vasculature. This item has two end points. One which grants an advantage against the boss of Radix Stronghold and one which provides more lore and insight into the tragedy of the Wilgram Twins. The Flowering Vasculature is located on the highest floor within the towering library of the stronghold. The quickest way to get there is to progress to the general location where you collected the Buel’Sarian Bindrune where you will find a ladder leading up to a platform which holds Sir Gideon. Ignoring Gideon, enter the library and ascend the spiraling staircase. After collecting the Flowering Vasculature, a scene will trigger showing a statue surrounded by a number of graves. This is the boss advantage end point for the item.

To find this secret location, you must return to the dock, board the grainwake and sail out the same entrance you came through prior. From there proceed southeast along the island exterior and very quickly you’ll notice another bramble of Blackthorn jutting up from the island’s exterior. You’ll have a prompt to use the Firebombs from before. Do this and proceed inside to find a hidden dock. Progressing into the stronghold here will lead to a number of graves and the same statue from the vision before. Here you will have a prompt to place the Flowering Vasculature which will cause the item to shatter and will subtract a significant portion of health from the Wilgram Twins boss health.

The other option for the Flowering Vasculature revolves around the NPC Malek Mard. If you have already learned the location of Malek Mard through either starting or completing the side quest “To Shield or Smother,” you can proceed to Malek’s location within Melgom’s Cavern in Starspire. Speaking to him with the Flowering Vasculature in your inventory will trigger a sequence where he takes it from you and completes a ritual which was interrupted by the Night Plague. This will cause the NPC Ayenna, The Withering, to emerge from the Vasculature and the player can speak with her and Malek to learn a bit more about the Wilgram Twins.
